Bio LNG Blending

Bio-LNG is widely being considered as a corollary to LNG, and with good reason. The process usual y involves Carbon dioxide emissions, can produce Bio-LNG in an environment-friendly manner. The process also involves upgrading the Bio Gas that is derived from Bio-methane, which is derived from greenery, human and animal waste, and also from landfill site gases, organic waste, etc., and processing it for usage as Bio-LNG.
The process of Bio-LNG blending eliminates contaminants such as Carbon dioxide, thereby producing Bio-methane, which is 96% Methane, and 4% Nitrogen. The entire process is complex, as the methane that is obtained from this process has to be extremely pure before it can be liquefied into Bio LNG.

Concept LNG fueling / LCNG

Earlier this year, the Government of India announced that any entity that matches and qualifies preset norms and criteria is eligible for, and can set up an LNG Fuelling Station. It is no longer restricted to Government and PSU companies. This announcement, coupled with the Government's ambitious plan to set up 1000 LNG Stations across India, is sure to spur the growth of LNG usage.
LNG fueling stations are often located within public areas. Each LNG Fuelling Station comprises of some parts, which are essentially set up as per an LNG dispensation flow, which involves receiving the fuel at the station, up to the dispensation. There are three types of Liquefied Natural Gas Stations:

Stationary LNG Stations

A Stationary LNG Station is similar to modern-day Petrol and Diesel Stations, where a large quantity of LNG is stored and is dispensed upon requirement. The equipment needed is a storage tank and a metered dispensation unit.

Mobile LNG Stations

In mobile fuelling, LNG is delivered by a tanker truck that has onboard metering and dispensing equipment.

Bunkering LNG Station

LNG Bunkering station in which LNG is Provided to modes of transport that have massive consumption. This type of station is ideal for fleet operations and for sea transport vessels.
However, proper technical know-how and expertise are necessary to understand and implement the commissioning of an LNG Fuelling Station.

EV Charging Station

Globally, most Governments have recognized the effects of Global Warming and Climate Change. They also recognize the factors causing these phenomena, which includes carbon emissions from transport vehicles, which can be sea transport and land transport. Consequently, the advent of Electric Vehicles and their sales are showing an upward trend. Governments are also offering incentives for the purchase and use of Electric Vehicles. With the increase in EV's, there is certainly going to be a growing demand for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations, public and private. These EV Charging Stations have to be well­ equipped to handle the charging requirements of multiple EVs, and for that, a robust infrastructure is paramount. On its part, the Government has also incentivized the setting up of EV Charging Stations.

Natural gas (Liquefied Natural Gas) and modern renewable sources of energy have started to gain ground despite the COVI 019 Pandemic.

(Road / Sea Fleets)

For Liquified Natural gas to be used as fuel in road transport vehicles, a conversion kit is required, as the existing fuel mechanism which supports petroleum fuels will not work. These kits need to be installed by experts so that there are no problems in the long run. Any road truck fleet operator will want to install this kit to save money and to use eco-friendly fuel.
Installing an LNG kit in an existing heavy-duty truck or bus may cost can be sizable, and can be a significant percentage of the heavy-duty vehicle cost. At first glance, it may seem to be an expensive proposition in the short term. However, after calculating the maintenance and adjusting depreciation costs, etc., the owner can easily recover this cost within 1·2 years. Any saving after that can increase the profit.
The Government of India has incentivized the use of LNG Kits for heavy-duty transport vehicles and has set a roadmap for the coming years to install more than 1000 LNG refuelling stations in India. This move will ensure a sufficient supply of LNG and also contribute towards increasing the usage of LNG in heavy-duty truck and bus fleets in India.

Hydrogen Fueling Station

Given that several countries in the West (Germany, USA, etc.) are already running several types of public transport vehicles on Hydrogen fuel, the Government of India is taking massive steps towards using tomorrow's fuel today.
Big players in the refuelling sector have set up more than 200 Hydrogen Refuelling Stations all over the world, and the no. is set to grow. The National Thermal Power Corporation has announced the setup of India's first Hydrogen Refuelling Station in Leh, Ladakh, earlier this year. This shows that the Government of India s seriously looking towards enhancing the usage of Hydrogen as a fuel for the morrow.

LNG Re-gasification satellite station

For transport over large distances or when pipelines for natural gas are not available, the gas can be transported as liquified natural gas (LNG). Natural gas is commonly transported and stored in liquid state because its volume is decreased about 600 times compared to at gaseous state. By cooling the gas down to approximately -162oC, the gas condensates and becomes liquid. Regasification is the process of converting the gas back to gaseous state by heating the liquified gas.
Liquefied natural gas must be regasified to be used as fuel, power generation, for heating, cooking etc..
